In 2009 Network Rail awarded a contract to C Spencer Ltd to install a new footbridge at Woodlesford Railway Station in Rothwell, to replace the old level crossing. The construction is part of a programme of works to remove crossings that have a history of misuse and, by permanently separating pedestrians and trains, improve safety.

Recycled Type 1 supplied to Leeds M621 Construction Project

In 2009 Balfour Beatty were awarded a contract to provide a range of reconstruction works between junctions 1 and 3 of the M621 near Leeds. The proposed works were to renew the existing steel central reserve safety barrier with a concrete step barrier. Also included was the reconstruction of drainage and pavement works within the central reservation.
